Job summary

A leading retail management company is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the operations team in managing service operations and maintenance of the shopping mall. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Bachelor's Degree and have 7+ years of relevant experience, with strong leadership and project management skills. This position is based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
  • 1–2 years at a managerial position in a similar role.
  • Experience in property management or retail environment is an advantage.

Job description

Lead the operations team in managing service operations (security & carpark) and maintenance of the mall.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, formulate, manage and oversee the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the shopping mall.
  • Review the facilities management programs and developments to ensure that the shopping mall performs at an optimum level.
  • Coordinate the annual operation budget, administration, and management of service contracts.
  • Prepare and collate relevant management reports.
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant and equipment.
  • Conduct energy conservation & environmental programs to reduce operating costs.
  • Manage the BAS system, analysing data to conduct proactive maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Maintain good relations with tenants; manage tenant fit‑out works and Asset Enhancement Projects.
  • Ensure that the property is kept in excellent condition.
Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor Degree in Estate Management, Building, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience with 1–2 years at a managerial position in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in property management, shopping complex, or retail environment with involvement in asset enhancement projects is an added advantage.
  • Familiar with Electricity Supply Act, Electricity Regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations, etc.
  • Familiarity with building/retail maintenance work and regulations.
  • Knowledge of car parking equipment, security, and housekeeping is an added advantage.
  • Self‑driven and able to work within tight deadlines.
  • Possess strong leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and result‑oriented in approach.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Possess good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Computer literate with good report writing skills.
