A leading construction services provider in Malaysia is seeking a Manager Material to oversee laboratory and field-testing activities. The role includes managing testing processes, ensuring quality control, and providing guidance to the laboratory team. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in material management within the construction industry. This position requires strong leadership and familiarity with laboratory testing procedures, contributing significantly to project success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in materials management within the construction industry.
• Registered with Board of Engineers.
• Experience with laboratory testing procedures and local specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and management guidance to the laboratory team.
• Supervise testing of samples in laboratory and field.
• Conduct quality control checks on work carried out.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and in order.
• Prepare monthly summaries of lab activities.

Job description

We are looking for Manager Material to join our organization. Manager, Material is responsible to manage and supervise laboratory and field-testing activities at Site Office, Genting Sempah, Pahang. The candidate must able to enforcing quality control and overseeing site testing from end-to-end process in the construction highway industry.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide technical and management guidance and direction to laboratory team.
• To supervise, monitor and ensure the testing of all samples in the laboratory and field (i.e Quarries, factories, plant and etc. as per schedule).
• To conduct the quality control checks on work carried out.
• To ensure others team member to carry out duties accordingly.
• To manage / supervise / witness testing and or production work samples as quarries, factories, plant and sites.
• To ensure all laboratory equipment are in order and calibrated.
• To prepared monthly summary of lab activities.
• Reporting to management in any incident immediately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and Registered with Board of Engineers.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar material management role within the construction industry.
• Have knowledge about ISO 9001:2015 and experience in Civil Engineering field / work especially in laboratory testing procedures and local specification.
• Strong leadership, problem – solving skills and familiar with construction standards and quality systems.
