Job Description Summary
The Logistics Manager is accountable for end-to-end material control and warehouse operations, including internal logistic (material handler/water spider), shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and trade requirements. This role also leads strategic logistics initiatives, manages freight and forwarding partners, ensures cost efficiency, and drives continuous improvement to support business goals.
Job Description
- Accountable for material control activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory control/accuracy, and monthly cycle count/yearly stock count activities.
- Manage internal logistics – material issuance/replenishment and material handler/water spider to ensure high efficiency to support operations.
- Provides effective leadership and overall management of BD Kulim Warehouse and Logistics functions.
- Leads strategy‑driven supply chain initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement and compliance‑driven changes to meet business goals, including staffing, inventory optimization, inbound freight cost, and space requirements.
- Ensures compliance with import/export and global trade regulations and all local authorities – Customs, NPRA, MITI, and others.
- Ensures all licenses are renewed in a timely manner and in compliance at all times.
- Directly interacts with transportation and logistics providers, agents, as well as corporate global transportation and logistics materials suppliers.
- Tracks all shipments to ensure timely delivery and addresses any exceptions.
- Collaborates with procurement and finance teams to align logistics costs with budgetary targets.
- Collaborates with Global Transportation team on lane set up after RFQ.
- Investigates and resolves service failures, delays, or customer complaints related to freight and forwarding operations.
