Responsibilities

  • Manage the consolidation of financial statements for the entire Media Prima Group.
  • Oversee the preparation of the Annual Report and Quarterly Financial Results.
  • Ensure all financial reports adhere to MFRS, IFRS, and Companies Act 2016.
  • Provide expertise on complex accounting treatments.
  • Develop internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Act as the point of contact for external auditors.
  • Conduct variance analysis on financial results.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Statutory & Group Reporting
  • Consolidation: Manage the consolidation of financial statements for the entire Media Prima Group covering all business segments (Broadcasting, Digital Media, Publishing, etc.).
  • External Filings: Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of the Annual Report, Quarterly Financial Results and other required filings for Bursa Malaysia and other regulators.
  • Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial reports strictly adhere to the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and the Companies Act 2016.
  • Technical Advice: Provide expertise on complex or unusual accounting treatments (e.g., goodwill, complex transactions in the media sector) and implement new accounting standards as they come into effect.
  • C: Internal Controls & Audit Management.1. Internal Controls: Develop, document and monitor robust internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to safeguard the financial integrity of the organization.
  • Audit Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors (e.g., PwC) managing audit schedules, preparing detailed audit schedules and ensuring timely completion of statutory obligations.
  • Financial Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis on financial results (comparing actual vs. budget) and provide clear, concise commentary and insights to senior management (e.g., Group CFO).
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities and implement new financial systems/software to automate reporting processes, drive efficiency and improve data accuracy.
