Job Purpose
Monitor and control all financial and accounting matters with the view of providing sound financial advice. Implement business process improvement to the overall accounting system and ensure timely and accurate reporting. Monitor all legal, standard and policy compliance of the company.
Financial
- Work closely with General Manager of SDPS to secure profitable and/or high profiles ventures
- Preparation and presenting Financial Paper in the Board and Exco Meeting
- Monitor and control all financial and accounting matters to ensure good internal control system and provide sound financial advice including financial reporting, taxation, audit, treasury, receivables and payables
- Responsible for book of accounts SDPS Group of companies and other operational accounting and reporting functions, including periodic reporting on BPC, preparation of statutory accounts and attend to statutory audit issues
- Timeliness of statutory and management reports
- Preparation monitoring of Annual Operating Plan. Tracking and to highlight to the management of the achievement and forecasted achievement.
- SST issue and implementation
Business
- Assess system adequacy and identify process improvement to the overall accounting system while overseeing monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank reconciliations, including timely clearance of reconciling items and general accounting processes.
- Oversee income tax estimates, computation and ensure timely submission to authority, including indirect taxes and deferred tax
- Management Committee Member.
- Appointed representative of SDPS to the Investment Committee with clients (PTSN, UTHM, IIUM and UTM) for the proposed investment for Maintenance Reserve Fund
People & Communication Management
- Lead and coach individuals in the unit/department to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of business results and for staff advancement
Job Responsibilities
Finance Management
- Supervise preparation of periodic financial reports to ensure compliance with company guidelines as well as statutory requirements
- Implement processes and systems for the efficient capture of revenue from the various stakeholder groups, including customers and service suppliers
- Guide subordinates in reporting preparations which include but not limited to cash flow, profit/loss, return on equity, balance sheet figures, and major budget variances
- Implement procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping
External Liaison
- Establish and maintain relationships with individual and business customers especially auditors, bankers, debtors and solicitors
People Management
- Coach and motivate staff; identify learning opportunities for staff development and advancement; track work progress and conduct performance reviews in order to build staff competence on the job and encourage motivation, pro-activeness and job satisfaction of all direct reports
Quality Compliance
- Adhere to relevant policies, procedures and work instructions as defined in the Company's Quality System to demonstrate Risk Base Thinking and Performance Base Approach in all undertaking and to ensure achievement of intended results
Health, Safety and Environment Compliance

Education/ Professional Qualification
- Degree in Accountancy
- Professional Accounting Qualification
- Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants
Professional Experience
- More than 10 years relevant working experiences
