A leading manufacturing firm in Malaysia is seeking a Manager - Engineering to oversee utility and waste water treatment operations. The role involves optimizing energy and water usage, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, and leading maintenance activities. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and has a minimum of 8 years experience in utilities management. Knowledge of safety regulations and strong technical skills are essential for success in this role.
Manage and optimize energy, water, and utility usage across the factory.
Lead preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (DOSH, DOE, SPAN, LUAS, Gas Malaysia, TNB).
Plan and execute shutdowns, projects, and utility interruptions.
Approve utility parameters, budgets, expenditures, and contracts.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
Drive operational excellence, reliability, and efficiency (OEE).
Lead and develop a team of engineers/technicians; ensure training, competency, and certifications
Review KPIs, reports, and proposals to align with business objectives.
Collaborate with management and other departments on procedures, projects, and improvement initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
Work Experience:
Minimum 8 years in utilities/facilities management or similar manufacturing role.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
Strong M&E knowledge; experience with chiller, compressor, and water treatment systems
Knowledge of GMP, safety regulations, ISO standards
Skilled in troubleshooting, time study, and manpower planning
Knowledge of regulatory compliance (DOSH, DOE, SPAN, LUAS).
Familiar with Lean tools and energy/resource management
Relevant certifications in utilities/energy are an advantage.
