Qualifications

Job description

We are a leading real estate company looking for an experienced and committed Manager to join our Dispute Resolution team. You will be part of a growing team of managers and will work closely with, and report directly to, the Head of Dispute Resolution in handling litigation and dispute matters for the Group.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Assisting the Head of Dispute Resolution in providing strategic litigation advice to senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of disputes, including construction claims, purchaser claims (landed and stratified properties), and matters involving Joint Management Bodies/Management Corporations.
  • Handling litigation files involving disputes with contractors and consultants and defect cases arising from poor workmanship or professional negligence.
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on a wide variety of commercial and construction-related contracts, particularly PWD, PAM and CIDB standard forms as well as consultancy agreements, supply/ procurement contracts, concessions, cost-sharing arrangements and data centre-related contracts.
  • Supporting the Head to ensure disputes and contracts are managed effectively, strategically, and in line with company objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Degree in law (LLB (Hons.) or its equivalent), CLP (or its equivalent); called to the Malaysian Bar.
  • 8–10 years of solid experience in litigation, arbitration and adjudication, with a strong focus on property and construction disputes.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills across the spectrum of construction related contracts from standard forms (PWD, PAM, CIDB) to consultancy, procurement and project development/cost-sharing agreements.
  • Familiarity with key legislation including CIPAA, the Arbitration Act, the Rules of Court, the National Land Code, the Housing Development Act, and the Strata Management Act.
  • Experience in drafting or reviewing data centre-related contracts will be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of the Head of Dispute Resolution, alongside peers.
