Job summary

A leading Malaysian bank is looking for a regulatory reporting specialist to enhance the quality of reporting, manage compliance with standards, and streamline processes. Key responsibilities include implementing projects for improvement, monitoring reporting compliance, and supporting the initiative by Bank Negara Malaysia. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in regulatory reporting within the banking sector, with skills in data management and analysis.

Job description
  • Identify and implement key projects to improve regulatory reporting quality, reduce cost, increase productivity and improve reporting cycle time by reducing efforts of reworks resulting in significant business improvement and compliance.
  • Support BNM initiative, manage downstream impact, identify areas of data rectification to ensure report are adhered to SREF standard.
  • Monitoring SREF and non-compliances for Statistical reporting. To avoid SREF penalty via identifying reporting weaknesses and report to management on regular basis.
  • Assists in defining and developing the regulatory reporting framework and to promote the use of Bank’s standard MIS definition and data.
  • Introduce MIS capabilities to support and streamline regulatory reporting from manual / BAU to more automated and measureable processes and controls.
  • Encompasses identifying, analyzing and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • To assist in the research and implementation of new and revised regulatory reporting requirements, as well as the evaluation of regulatory requirements for new products/transactions. Communicate the reporting and data needs to business partners.
  • Undertake ad hoc request and reporting, as requested, including participation in the regulatory reporting automation project.
  • Ensure ongoing cross-functional process streamlining and reporting risk control in place and comply to bank internal requirement for business continuity.
  • Pro-actively identify problem areas and opportunities within the Bank portfolio with processes and policy analyses to enhance profitability of the franchise.
  • Maintain and support credit data and data repositories. Champion enhancement of portfolio analyses and data management.
