Job summary

Eppendorf Malaysia is seeking a finance professional to partner with the APAC commercial teams, driving growth while maintaining cost discipline. You will lead planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles for the country and assigned functions, ensuring data quality and alignment with regional/global requirements.

Responsibilities include RFC data loading, variance analysis, KPI development and dashboarding with SAP/BW/Power BI, plus support for year-end close and intercompany

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related field.
• Several years of Controlling, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Business Analysis experience in international environments.
• Strong planning, budgeting and forecasting with management reporting and variance analysis.
• Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow dynamics and impact of commercial decisions.
• Advanced Excel and corporate reporting/BI tools (SAP, BW, Power BI); comfortable with large data sets and reconciliations.
• High attention to detail with ability to translate numbers into clear business insights.
• Collaborative partner mindset: build trust, challenge assumptions and communicate clearly.
• Very good English; Asian languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Generate, validate and distribute RFC reports before approvals.
• Coordinate weekly sales forecast submissions and challenge assumptions where needed.
• Work with Accounting to ensure accurate management reporting for sales, margins, OPEX and profitability.
• Prepare standard reporting templates, slides and KPIs; adapt to new requirements.
• Perform variance analysis versus budget and forecast; highlight drivers and actions.
• Provide detailed cost and performance insights to leaders, including cost tracking and profitability views.
• Develop KPI reports and dashboards to support data-driven decisions.
• Continuously improve planning, forecasting and reporting processes and systems.
• Support year-end closing activities and intercompany controlling processes.
• Deputise for Controlling team members as needed.

In this role, you will be a key business partner for our Malaysia and APAC commercial teams, helping drive growth while ensuring cost discipline.

• Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles for the country and assigned functions, ensuring timelines, data quality and alignment with regional and global requirements.

• Prepare and maintain RFC input templates, complete budgeting and forecast information in collaboration with stakeholders, and load data into corporate reporting systems.

• Generate, validate and distribute RFC and related reports, ensuring accuracy before final approvals.

• Coordinate and complete weekly sales forecast submissions, challenging assumptions where needed.

• Work closely with Accounting to secure accurate and timely management reporting for sales, margins, OPEX and profitability.

• Prepare standard reporting templates, slides and KPIs, and adapt them to new business or Corporate Controlling requirements.

• Perform variance analysis versus budget and forecast, highlighting key drivers and proposing concrete actions.

• Provide detailed cost and performance insights to functional and commercial leaders, including cost tracking and profitability views.

• Develop and enhance KPI reports and dashboards that support data‑driven decision making.

• Continuously improve planning, forecasting and reporting processes and systems to reduce manual work and increase accuracy.

• Support year‑end closing activities, including controlling‑related calculations and data preparation.

• Handle intercompany service‑related controlling processes and calculations as required.

• Contribute to Controlling team deliverables and deputise for team members during absence.

What sets you apart

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field.

• Several years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Business Analysis, ideally in an international or regional environment.

• Strong planning, budgeting and forecasting skills, with hands‑on experience in management reporting and variance analysis.

• Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow dynamics, and how commercial decisions impact financial performance.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with corporate reporting/BI tools (e.g. SAP, BW, Power BI or similar); you are comfortable working with large data sets and manual data reconciliations where needed.

• High attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture and translate numbers into clear business insights.

• A collaborative business‑partner mindset: you build trust with stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively and communicate complex topics in a simple, actionable way.

• You listen to understand, proactively engage stakeholders and follow through on commitments – even when timelines are demanding and topics are complex.

• Very good command of English; additional Asian languages are an advantage.
