  • The Business Development & Partnerships team works with team members across all departments to bring success and add values for the business.
  • We work and build relationships with external partners to lead business opportunities and collaborations.
Get to Know the Role
  • You will be an important part of the Payment team. Your work involves managing the Business Development & Partnership Team, leading merchant acquisition for GrabPay & PayLater by Grab, managing merchant onboarding funnel and assisting payment partnership functions across Malaysia.
  • This onsite role based in Petaling Jaya, reports to the Head, Merchant - Payment & Loyalty.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the Payment Business Development & Partnerships team.
  • Business Growth & Sales: Drive long-term business growth by achieving sales KPIs, strategically acquiring merchants, managing sales channels, and executing key projects.
  • Merchant Onboarding & Operations: Oversee the smooth and efficient onboarding of new merchants onto the GrabPay/PayLater by Grab platform, coordinating with Merchant Operations, Risk & Compliance, and resolving any associated issues.
  • Partnership & Opportunity Management: Identify new market opportunities and insights, engaging directly with partners to cultivate strong relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams like Account Management Operations and Marketing to enhance post-sales engagement with newly acquired merchants.
  • Payment Integration Expertise: Utilize familiarity with payment integrations (offline and online) to optimize the end-to-end sales funnel conversion, from commercial negotiations through to post-launch support.
  • Project Support: Provide assistance with existing and new projects related to payment and integration as required.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, and Partnerships, coupled with a thorough understanding of the payment & fintech market and competitive landscape.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience leading or managing Sales or Business Development teams.
  • You have strong capability in problem-solving and conflict resolution, particularly when managing deliverable scopes with both internal and external stakeholders.
