Job description

As the Freight Sales Manager, you will develop territory sales strategies and be responsible for attracting new customers. This position drives key results for the B2B department that includes profit and revenue growth. Main focus will be driving LTL, palletize revenue


  • Acquisition of New Business Opportunities (Freight Sales LTL)
  • Identify new businesses in freight sales, follow up on potential sales opportunities and gain businesses, manage lead qualification and lead generation through calls, and convert possible prospect leads into accounts, emphasize those with maximum revenue potential.
  • Execute sales strategies to secure competitor business in major and key account portfolios Conducts customer visits, meetings and attend related events
  • Evaluate customer needs and prepare proposals to secure new business opportunities
  • Maintain a rigorous follow-up process aimed at building relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Coordinate with different departments on lead initiatives
  • Customer Development
  • Strong customer development capabilities and ability to grow wallet shareCoordinate with cross functions and act as the customer’s point of contact to ensure all queries, problems or issues are dealt with appropriately
  • Market Insights
  • Provide market insights from current market trends in terms of competitor service, pricing and operational capabilities
  • Ensure updated industry trends are shared back to the commercial team for clarity in terms of product and solution fit
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Ensure close coordination with other members of the sales and operation team.
  • Maintain good relationship and work closely with all the stakeholders to ensure process runs smoothly and does not impact day to day operations
  • Work closely with product specialist/Project Manager and the Core operation team and create an atmosphere in which timely and high quality work products flow smoothly.
  • Participate in customer meetings, and assist in determining solutions that will be effective that will help in sales conversion
  • Operational Solutioning
  • Strong solutioning capabilities and ability to work closely with the project team.
  • To secure freight sales business via close project management governance
  • Work closely with cross functions to identify the right solutions .
  • Continually develop knowledge of products/services and project / program management, commercial and operational awareness in order to provide the best possible solutions for customers.
Requirements
  • Min 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the domestic / transportation/Freight Forwarding industry.
  • A progressive and proven track record sales success.
  • Demonstrated strong sales acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Experience of logistics freight sales would be an advantageAbility to manage key decision makers Relationship building capabilities
