Job summary

A leading aviation security company in Cyberjaya is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager in Aviation Security to ensure adherence to security protocols as established by the National Civil Aviation Security Programme. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field and have at least 7 years of experience in aviation security. This role involves supporting the Head of Security, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating security measures across departments.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), CAAM, AELB and DG regulations.

Job description

Assist in ensuring that the security measures outlined in the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) are implemented effectively across all operational areas.

Ensure that security procedures and protocols are communicated and understood by relevant personnel on a 'need to know' basis.

Support the Head of Security in conducting regular organizational risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities or threats. Implement and monitor risk mitigation strategies to address identified security risks.

Maintain regular communication with various departments, including cargo operators, aircraft operators, and airport operators, to coordinate the implementation of security measures.

Act as the secondary point of contact for internal security matters, ensuring seamless collaboration with other departments.

Assist in the development and implementation of the COSP in compliance with the NCASP. Ensure the COSP is regularly reviewed and updated to meet the evolving security requirements.

Monitor and report any actual or suspected acts of unlawful interference with cargo, mail, or organizational facilities to the relevant authorities, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).

Assist in the development and implementation of response plans for security incidents.

Ensure that all security directives and circulars issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and other relevant authorities are implemented and adhered to within the organization.

Assist in establishing and maintaining protocols for intelligence gathering and investigations to proactively identify and address security threats.

Support investigative processes and ensure timely reporting and resolution of security-related issues.

Assist in monitoring and updating the Dangerous Goods (DG) Programme to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ensure that the company's x‑ray screening operations comply with the Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) regulations, maintaining valid licenses and ensuring adherence to all related requirements.

The Assistant Manager, AVSEC – Standards & Compliance and the Assistant Manager, AVSEC – Operations, Line Stations and RPO report directly to the Manager, AVSEC.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Security, Aviation or related field.

Minimum 7 years’ experience in aviation security, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Good knowledge of National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) and Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations.

Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
