Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur is the first Luge Park in Malaysia, part of the Skyline Enterprises tourism group. Located in Gamuda Luge Gardens, the park offers the Skyline Skyride and the Luge Ride, providing unique adventure experiences. Skyline Enterprises, the parent company based in New Zealand, has a rich history as a tourism pioneer since the 1960s.

Role Description

The maintenance technician is responsible to ensure the safe operation of the site attractions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the following:

  • Chairlift system
  • Luge carts
  • High Fly Zipline
  • Zipline trolleys
  • Free Jump Drop Zone

Comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will work within a small, supportive team on a rotating roster. It is the Maintenance Technician’s responsibility to ensure all preventive maintenance schedules are completed promptly and in accordance with industry best practices.

When not performing morning pre‑operation checks or scheduled maintenance on facilities, the technician will carry out regular servicing and repairs on the site’s Zipline trolleys and Luge carts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on Skyline Luges ropeway systems.
  • Conduct reactive maintenance in response to equipment breakdowns.
  • Service and repair the site luge carts to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Service and repair the site Zipline trollies as required.
  • Diagnose, report, and recommend solutions for site maintenance issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and within the required timeframe.
  • Organise and contribute to the upkeep and improvement of site facilities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
  • Adhere to Skyline Luge’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as instructed by management or senior staff.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and consideration toward customers, colleagues, and on‑site contractors.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working at heights.
  • Proficient in hydraulic maintenance and servicing.
  • Welding skills (MIG, MMA, or TIG) are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of rigging and use of slings.
  • Troubleshooting and fault‑finding on hydraulic systems, Diesel engines.
  • 24V electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical drawings.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical manuals.
  • Skills in assembling and disassembling of industrial components.
  • Experience in air compressor servicing.
  • Knowledge of fitting and machining practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, or related technical roles — for example:
  1. Maintenance Technician or Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or amusement park environment.
  2. Experience with ropeway systems, ride maintenance, or industrial equipment servicing.
  3. Hands‑on work involving hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines, or mechanical assemblies.
  • Prior experience in the above areas will be an added advantage.
  • Any other relevant technical certifications (e.g., Welding, Electrical Safety, Working at Heights, or Hydraulic Systems) will be considered an advantage.
