Job summary

A manufacturing company in Kuantan, Malaysia, seeks a Maintenance Technician responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues. The ideal candidate has a Certificate or Diploma in a technical field, 1-3 years of experience in maintenance, and strong problem-solving skills. Candidates with Mandarin proficiency are a bonus. This role may require shift work, weekends, or overtime.

Qualifications

Job description

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines, utilities, and facility equipment.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in manufacturing equipment.

Assist in machine installation, alignment, commissioning, and testing.

Monitor machine conditions, identify potential failures, and take corrective actions.

Support production teams during equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and spare parts inventory.

Follow strict safety practices, including LOTO, PPE usage, and plant safety requirements.

Participate in continuous improvement, lean projects, and equipment upgrades.

Requirements

Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related technical field.

1–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Basic knowledge of:

• Mechanical systems (belts, bearings, conveyors, actuators)
• Electrical troubleshooting (motors, sensors, contactors, relays)
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during machine downtime.

Team player with good communication skills.

Willing to work shifts, weekends, or OT when required.

Candidates with Mandarin language proficiency will be added bonus.
