Job summary

A leading FMCG manufacturer seeks a Maintenance Manager in Malacca City. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance activities, ensuring safety and performance in factory operations. An effective leader with 8+ years of experience, preferably in high-volume manufacturing, is essential. Candidates with expertise in SAP and maintenance best practices are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of working experience with 4 years in a leading position.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG.
• Knowledge of TPM, GMP, HACCP, and ISO standards.

Job description

The ideal candidate needs to ensure that all maintenance activities enhance people's and product's safety, product quality, and operations performance, by providing engineering professional and technical leadership to the maintenance department in the factory.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive reliability maintenance system to optimize factory operations.
• Introduce maintenance best practice in the industry of plan maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability engineering to enhance machine performance and reliability
• Ensure that TPM and introduction of best practice activities is responsive to the long term needs of the production operations by working with the technicians on various maintenance areas (mechanical, electrical, electronic, instrumentation) in order to develop required programs for optimum performance of machines and equipment
• Responsible for effective utilisation and distribution of all maintenance executive, technical craftsman, and contract workers for efficient operation of all maintenance PM work for the entire plant
• Coordinate with all the relevant teams to provide availability of parts, materials, special tools, equipment and craft associates in carrying out maintenance activities
• Lead the maintenance team in troubleshooting, carrying out major repair or modifications work and upgrading/modernisation of equipment
• Analyse breakdowns to eliminate repeated failures and maintain the necessary data retrieval systems related to Plant Maintenance SAP, absenteeism, overtime, maintenance costs and machine downtime
• Ensure optimal availability and performance of the unit by initiation and execution of continuous improvement of all maintenance schedules using a structured Breakdown Analysis Programme

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic.
• At least 8 years working experience which includes at least 4 years in a leading position, in high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG (Food).
• Strong mind set on preventive maintenance
• Experience in working on SAP plant operations is an added advantage.
• Knowledge on TPM, GMP, HACCP and ISO standards.
• Experienced in leading and coaching others on breakdown analysis.
• Experience in working in plant operations with goal alignment and MBU are highly appreciated.
