Job summary

Infineon Technologies, Kulim, Malaysia, is seeking a maintenance engineer to support Wafer FAB equipment and lead a technical team. You will troubleshoot, install, qualify, and maintain semiconductor equipment, driving continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field, plus at least 2 years of industrial experience in wafer fab maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in direct Wafer FAB equipment maintenance.
• Experience in semiconductor chemical etching & cleaning equipment.
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.
• Independent, resourceful, and initiative.
• Fresh graduates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Resolve engineering issues with manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Develop competencies for maintenance team to improve equipment performance.
• Ensure regulatory standards, health, safety, and environmental guidelines are followed.
• Coordinate and implement shift maintenance activities to meet KPI targets.
• Work in a 12-hour shift or normal hours as required to support production needs.
• Ensure production equipment control and product quality meet expectations.
• Implement a preventive/predictive maintenance program.
• Monitor equipment KPIs and drive team to meet goals.
• Provide necessary production support.
• Establish an indirect spare inventory system for key equipment.
• Sustain and improve KPI of equipment via continuous improvement projects.
• Lead a team on continuous improvement projects aligned to objectives.
• Implement productivity improvement programs and cost-reduction efforts.
• Identify key cost drivers and reduce spare inventory liabilities.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement all equipment installation, maintenance, and sustaining activities.
