Job summary

Flint Hills Resources in Malaysia, Penang, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of injection moulding machines, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment. You will support preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to improve production performance.

You will work with CCS team across production, engineering, quality, and maintenance to improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance Engineering or related field.
• Experience in injection moulding maintenance within manufacturing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and maintain CMMS records.
• Support mould changeovers, machine trials, start-ups and parameter adjustments.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve machine performance and reliability.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety procedures and quality standards.

Job description

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of injection moulding machines, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment. You will support equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and machine upgrades to improve production performance.

Our Team

You will join our CCS team in Malaysia, partnering with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues to minimise downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring equipment issues.
• Support mould changeovers, machine trials, equipment start-ups, and parameter adjustments.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and maintain accurate records in CMMS.
• Partner with production and engineering teams to improve machine performance, reliability, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety procedures, quality standards, and company requirements.
• Support spare parts management and coordinate with vendors for repairs and technical support.
• Participate in TPM, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support technician training and provide on-call assistance for urgent equipment breakdowns when required.
• Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of injection moulding or equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
• Familiarity with injection moulding machines, auxiliary equipment, PLC-controlled systems, maintenance tools, and CMMS.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Training or certification in injection moulding maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC programming, robotics, or industrial automation.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, robotics, automation systems, or hot runner systems.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949, TPM, Kaizen, or Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, or energy-efficiency improvements.
• Experience supporting technician development, spare parts management, or vendor coordination.
