A manufacturing company based in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a skilled maintenance technician. The role involves coordinating repairs for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems while managing vendor services and implementing preventive maintenance plans. Candidates should have a technical certificate or diploma and at least 2 years of relevant experience in facility maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills, good communication abilities, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia are preferred. The position offers opportunities for hands-on work in a dynamic environment.
· Coordinate and perform repair and maintenance work for electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and mechanical systems.
· Monitor, coordinate, and follow up with external vendors/contractors for scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, repair work, and renovation projects.
· Plan, implement, and update preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, GMP requirements, and company policies.
· Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
· Assist production in Cartoning/loading activities when needed.
· Support outstation-related tasks (cargo handling & visitor arrangements).
· Manage maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory.
· Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, checklists, and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
· Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications / Skills:
· Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related technical field. Electrical, air-conditioning, or other maintenance-related certifications are an added advantage.
· At least 2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment or facility maintenance role.
· Hands-on skills in electrical wiring, plumbing, air-conditioning servicing, and general mechanical repair.
· Basic knowledge of GMP, safety practices, and compliance with DOSH/JKKP requirements is an added advantage.
· Possession of a GDL driver’s license is an advantage.
· Strong understanding of preventive maintenance planning and vendor/supplier coordination.
· Good problem-solving skills, effective communication, teamwork, and a responsible attitude.
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Basic computer skills for record keeping, maintenance scheduling, and reporting.
· Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken) is preferred.
