A leading property management company in Malaysia is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to maintain hotel systems, conduct inspections, and ensure a safe environment for guests. The ideal candidate should have technical expertise, experience in maintenance, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, guest service calls, and compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct daily checks and inspections of all hotel systems, including:
Lighting and power systems.
Water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems.
Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC).
Mechanical systems such as water pumps, exhaust fans, and elevators (basic checks).
Records all job done, spare part utilize and recommendations (if applicable) on the job maintenance sheet and to submit all reports on the same day & reports to Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Supervisor.
Perform any other ad-hoc matters assigned by superior and/or the management.
Preventive Maintenance
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) as per checklist and instructions.
Conducts regular check of lubricating oil levels, oil pumps, fuel pump, oil heaters, air filters, terminals, starters and other accessories being made to ensure that they are in working order.
Ensure all batteries are regularly checked for distilled water, level, voltage, corrects charging current and terminal connection.
Maintain records of all maintenance activities and update maintenance logs.
Report and escale equipment defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Guest Room Maintenance
Attend to maintenance service calls from Front Office or Housekeeping.
Handle in-room technical complaints promptly and courteously (e.g., TV not working, aircon not cold, bathroom issues).
Ensure minimum disruption to guest comfort during repair works.
Public Areas & Facilities
Maintain all back‑of‑house and public area facilities including restrooms, swimming pool (if applicable), gym, lobby, corridors, and external lighting.
Ensure all common areas are safe and in good working condition.
Safety, Compliance & Emergency Response
Comply with all hotel policies related to safety, fire, and health regulations.
Assist in the inspection and maintenance of fire alarm systems, emergency lights, fire extinguishers, and hose reels.
Participates actively in all fire drills and be well versed with evacuation procedures for safety purposes.
Respond to emergencies such as electrical faults, water leaks, and fire alarms.
Perform generator start‑up testing and check diesel levels, if required.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with external contractors for specialized repair work (e.g., lift maintenance, chiller servicing).
Coordinate with other departments such as Housekeeping, Kitchen, and Front Office for smooth operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and equipment storage areas.
