Job summary

A transport company is seeking a Lorry Driver with a valid Goods Driving License and at least 1-2 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with routes in Puchong, able to perform vehicle inspections, and effectively communicate in both English and Bahasa Malaysia. Requirement

  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry, ensuring it is in safe and roadworthy condition.
  • Capable of safely loading, securing, and unloading goods, adhering to all safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with good communication skills to interact with dispatchers, clients, and other team members.
  • Ability to maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the delivery schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and carrying heavy items.
  • Adherence to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
Responsibility

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry, ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Load, secure, and unload goods carefully, preventing damage during transit and ensuring accurate delivery to designated locations.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during trips.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during driving.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the lorry, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and lights, and reporting any major repairs needed to the maintenance team.
