Job description

Plan and manage the day-to-day logistics operations, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.

Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure seamless movement of goods.

Monitor and optimize logistics costs to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Team Supervision & Development

Supervise and lead a team of logistics personnel, including warehouse workers, drivers, and inventory staff.

Provide training and development to the logistics team to improve performance and safety standards.

Conduct performance evaluations and ensure the team meets company goals.

Inventory Management

Oversee stock levels, inventory control, and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of goods.

Ensure timely and accurate inventory counts and resolve any discrepancies.

Implement strategies to minimize stockouts and reduce excess inventory.

Transportation Management

Coordinate transportation schedules and routes for delivery of materials and products.

Monitor and ensure that delivery times are met and goods are delivered in good condition.

Negotiate with transport providers to secure the best rates and service agreements.

Quality Control & Compliance

Ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

Implement and maintain safety protocols to protect staff and products.

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, inventory status, and cost analysis.

Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and transportation activities.

Communicate any operational issues to senior management and recommend solutions.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

Address and resolve any issues related to logistics, delivery delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.

Ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing logistics-related concerns.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education

Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

Proven experience in managing logistics teams and handling inventory management.

Knowledge of logistics software and systems.

Skills

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
