Job summary

A leading logistics company based in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Logistics Specialist/Executive to manage customs declarations and formalities. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding and a strong background in customs procedures. Proficiency in English and MS Office is essential. This role demands excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to coordinate with clients effectively. Immediate availability is a distinct advantage.

Job description
Logistics Specialist / Logistics Executive

Prepare and submit customs declaration forms accurately and on time.

Manage all customs formalities and liaise with customs and government agencies for smooth shipment clearance.

Verify and advise clients and agents on the correct HS Codes, documentation, and permits required.

Provide accurate duty and tax estimations to clients.

Follow up and resolve any discrepancies or issues during the clearance process.

Coordinate closely with customers (shippers and consignees) to ensure service excellence.

Ensure compliance with customs, airline, and port regulations.

Prepare the volume report. (customs declaration monthly)

Maintain proper records, files, and assist in internal/external reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Min. Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding / logistics.

Strong knowledge of customs declaration (mandatory).

Working knowledge of Sea and Air freight (export & import) processes.

Familiar with customs procedures and documentation requirements.

The candidate must possess supervisory skills and a team player with a high level of integrity and commitment.

Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving

Proficiency in English is essential.

Proficient in MS Office and freight management systems.

Able to handle multiple customers and prioritize under pressure.

Able to start work immediately will be an added advantage.
