This position is responsible for leading a team of operators and customer service staff in handling customer orders, shipments, information and services along the process of incoming, storing, inventory management, value-added, pick & pack, distribution and performance tracking, from project development and implementation through operations kick-off to service review, to ensure smooth and efficient operations in all logistics processes and the distribution network for assigned customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of subordinates to manage daily logistics operations and distribution system in the aspects of people, process, system, service quality, resources optimization, cost management and related planning.
  • Ensure good liaison with governmental departments or related organizations regarding import/export/re-export rules and regulations, licensing formalities, commodity information, and keep all parties informed of information, requirements and applications on documentation, restrictions and transportation modes.
  • Manage and ensure that all incoming and outgoing orders, data/information, shipments and paperwork are accurately received, put-away, updated, manipulated, and transferred to the proper designated location in a timely and good condition upon receipt at the Logistics Center.
  • Ensure all goods in the warehouse are properly collected, received, handled, accurately sorted, identified, value-added, transferred and dispatched; goods/order information capture is performed accurately and timely per agreed SOP and KPI.
  • Develop a robust subcontract management system and establish harmonious relationships with subcontractors.
  • Monitor and ensure irregularities or non-conformance shipments are returned to/from customers, express companies, forwarders, suppliers or other subcontractors and handled properly and timely.
  • Lead and develop a teamwork culture, motivate team spirit and maintain high morale to increase productivity, and maintain good communications with all levels, peer groups and external customers.
  • Continuously seek improvement opportunities along the value chain to streamline and re-engineer processes to achieve or exceed service standards or targets.
  • Enforce security and work safety measures and controls in the Logistics Center and distribution network.
  • Monitor departmental budgetary control and allocation of resources to ensure optimal use of facilities, system applications, people and related information data.
  • Contribute to adding value to all services in alignment with directions and established performance standards and cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborate with management and the Account Team to review performance, business opportunities, complaints/claims, and feedback from internal and external customers; identify solutions for continuous improvement and error prevention.
  • Analyze reports on operational performance and field discrepancies; propose plans or ideas for operation and process improvement to superiors.
  • Provide on-the-job training to staff to improve performance and productivity; deploy and complete special assignments as instructed by the Logistics Manager / General Manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in logistics or supply chain management in supervision or management of logistics or related field.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management System; knowledge of warehouse function, layout, international logistics, transport, customs, or trade department/function.
  • Must have valid rights to work and live in Malaysia.
