Job summary

Weir is seeking a Logistics Coordinator based in Batu Caves to manage daily logistics operations onsite. You will coordinate container planning, ensure SOP compliance, and liaise with authorities for import/export documentation.

The role emphasizes proactive organization and strong communication across teams. Primary duties include tracking shipments, updating customers, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as ISO audits and Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in logistics coordination with strong knowledge of import/export processes.
• Proven ability to work independently with a proactive and organized approach.
• Strong communication skills in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily logistics operations including revenue and container planning to ensure smooth marshalling and compliance with SOPs.
• Prepare shipping documents and liaise with authorities for logistics documentation such as FTA, COO, and Heat Treatment certificates.
• Track outbound shipments and provide regular updates to customers; coordinate with warehouse teams on loading and stuffing prioritization.
• Implement and promote the Company’s SHE policy; conduct incident investigations, risk assessments, and ensure health and safety standards.
• Support ISO audits, SHE assessments, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive operational excellence in logistics.
• Minimal travel may be required to support site operations or liaise with external partners.

What you’ll do

• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate daily logistics operations including revenue and container planning to ensure smooth marshalling and compliance with SOPs. Actively manage traffic, warehouse racking, and supply chain activities to support manufacturing and forwarding sites.


• Documentation & Compliance: Prepare final AOC (CIPL) and other shipping documents, liaise with authorities for logistics documentation such as FTA, COO, and Heat Treatment certificates, ensuring all import/export processes are compliant and efficient.


• Customer & Team Collaboration: Track outbound shipments, provide regular updates to customers, respond to logistics inquiries, and coordinate with warehouse teams on loading and stuffing prioritization.


• Safety & SHE Responsibilities: Implement and promote the Company’s SHE policy, conduct incident investigations, risk assessments, and ensure all employees and contractors adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.


• Continuous Improvement: Support ISO audits, SHE assessments, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive operational excellence and cultural change within the logistics function.


• Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required to support site operations or liaise with external partners.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in logistics coordination with strong knowledge of import/export processes.


• Proven ability to work independently with a proactive and organized approach.


• Strong communication skills in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.


• Experience in traffic management, warehouse operations, and supply chain coordination.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Logistics or related field.


• Experience with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).


• Familiarity with ISO audits, SHE assessments, and Lean Manufacturing principles.


• Background in forwarding, manufacturing, or hardgoods industries.
