Job summary

A leading Malaysian financial institution is seeking a Legal Counsel to manage litigation and provide legal advice to its business units. You will be responsible for reviewing commercial agreements and managing court orders. Candidates must possess an LLB degree, be admitted to the Malaysian Bar, and have at least 3 years of legal experience. Responsibilities
  • Manage court orders such as garnishee orders, injunction orders and winding up petition / orders.
  • Manage litigation suits against the Bank.
  • Provide legal advice / training to business units and branches.
  • Review and advise on commercial agreements.
  • Prepare and review agreements and terms and conditions related to the Bank’s products and services.
Requirements
  • An LLB Degree from a recognised university.
  • Has been admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in legal practice in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal role.
  • Familiar with laws in relation to financial services and strong background in banking and/or civil litigation.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent drafting and vetting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good command of English and meticulous attention to detail.
