A leading legal firm in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is seeking a Legal Executive for a 6-12 months contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all legal-related tasks, drafting various agreements, and ensuring compliance with legislation. Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law, have corporate or in-house experience, and be fluent in Malay and English. Report to Head of Legal Department (HOD) and/or directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and/or Executive Directors of the Company's Group.
Handle all legal related tasks of the Company's Group (including the company's holding company(ies), subsidiaries, related companies, associated entities, etc.) as per instructed by the HOD.
Draft and/or vet all forms of agreements including but not limited to memorandum of agreements, joint venture agreements, sale and purchase agreements, service agreements, tenancy agreements, lease agreements, terms of engagement, memorandum of understanding, deeds, undertakings, merger & acquisition agreements, EPCC agreements etc. concerning different and various transactions of the Group.
Vet all forms of correspondences, agreements and contracts on a case by case basis upon request from other department and approved by the HOD.
Identify, manage and mitigate legal risk issues across the Company's Group.
Ensure that the Company's Group complies with legislation, regulation and the requirements of professional bodies and other organizations.
Ensure proper execution of contracts, agreements and legal documents.
Ensure proper management and administration of legal documents.
Keep abreast of commercial law changes and draft write-up/notes on topical issues for use across the Company's Group.
Prepare legal report and assist in preparation of business proposal to the Executive Directors of the Company's Group.
Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration and certain legal matters handled by external counsels and liaise with external counsels.
Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Company's Group and/or HOD from time to time.
