Job summary

A leading venture capital firm in Malaysia is seeking a Legal Counsel (In-house) with 3 to 6 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution. The candidate must be fluent in Mandarin and hold a law degree with minimum second-class upper honours. Responsibilities

1. Handle Litigation & Dispute Resolution matters: You will be working on legal disputes, both in court (litigation) and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (e.g., arbitration).

2. Draft legal documents and perform legal research: Strong drafting and analytical skills are required to prepare legal opinions, court submissions, contracts, etc.

3. Work independently and in a team: Manage cases on your own but also collaborate with others, including partners and colleagues.

4. Engage in a variety of contentious legal work: Areas include commercial litigation, international arbitration, corporate disputes, restructuring & insolvency, employment disputes, tax issues, fraud & asset recovery.

5. Commit to professional growth: Show interest in developing your litigation and dispute resolution skills further.

6. Receive direct mentorship and guidance: Work under experienced partners and gain hands‑on legal exposure.

Requirements
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) – this is required.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of post‑qualification experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Education: Law degree with minimum second‑class upper honours (2:1) or equivalent from a reputable university.
