Job description

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM, with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred, and must be admitted to the bar with a current license to practice law. With at least five years of experience as in-house legal counsel or in a reputable law firm, with proven expertise in drafting and reviewing a broad range of legal documents and agreements. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks, and the capability to meet strict deadlines. The candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively across functions, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills. Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese is required to effectively communicate with stakeholders, review bilingual legal documents, and support cross-border legal matters involving Chinese-speaking regions.

  • Report directly to Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance and be responsible for ensuring that all legal matters are handled efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Your role will involve working closely with various internal departments, as well as external counsels, when necessary, to provide sound legal advice and guidance. You will also be involved in drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents and agreements.
  • Provide all-rounded legal support to various internal departments, ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external counsels to address legal matters effectively and efficiently.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements within the organization, including but not limited to service agreements, partnership/collaboration agreements, NDAs, marketing agreements, due diligence reports, legal opinions, resolutions, and other compliance documents.
  • Conduct legal research and perform legal due diligence to ensure the organization is well-informed and proactive in addressing legal issues.
  • Maintain contract management system and oversee other administrative procedures related to legal matters, such as corporate secretarial duties and incorporation processes.
  • Identify potential legal risks and conflicts proactively and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Support the Legal Manager in various tasks and projects as needed.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide accurate and up-to-date legal advice.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as and when assigned by the Company.
