Job description

We are seeking a proactive and business‑minded Legal Counsel to join our Chief Regulatory Office. The role will provide comprehensive legal and compliance support across the GDEX Group, ensuring that all operations, transactions, and governance practices meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial, logistics, and service contracts, ensuring legal soundness and risk protection.
  • Advise management and departments on corporate, compliance, and regulatory matters affecting group operations.
  • Support board and company secretarial functions, including review of resolutions, disclosures, and annual report content.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines (Companies Act, PDPA, Bursa Listing Requirements, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, and SOPs to strengthen governance efficiency.
  • Conduct legal awareness and compliance briefings for business units.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP); admission to the Malaysian Bar preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in corporate or commercial law, preferably in a listed or regulated company.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, PDPA, and employment law.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills in English.
  • Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with sound judgment.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and strong business acumen.
