ThisisanexcitingopportunityforalawyerwithoutstandinglegalskillsandanadventurousattitudetojoinZALORA’sMalaysianlegalteam.LocatedinMalaysia,youwillreportdirectlytotheMalaysiaCountryLegalCounsel. YouwillberesponsibleforprovidinglegaladviceacrossthefullrangeoflegalmattersaffectingZALORA’sbusinessacrosstheregion.Thisisanexcellentopportunityforalawyerseekingtogrowandgainexperienceinavarietyoflegalareas,intheburgeoningfashione-commerceindustry.

Responsibilities:

• ProvidingclearandpragmaticlegaladvicetobusinessstakeholdersonalllegalissuesrelatingtoZALORA’sregionalbusiness(includingcorporate,technology,payments,operations,finance,compliance,dataprotection,M&A,litigation,peopleandculture,andmarketing).
• ContractdraftingandnegotiationforZALORA’sfullsuiteofcontracts,includingbutnotlimitedto:technologyandlicensingagreements,purchasingandsupplyagreements,manufacturingagreements,marketingagreements,logisticsagreements,employmentagreements,on-linetermsandconditions,andnon-disclosureagreements.
• Advisingonandpreparingdocumentsrelatingtovariouscorporatesecretarialdocuments,includingadvisingoncorporatemattersconcerningZALORA’soverseasventures.
• Supportingthedevelopmentandlaunchofkeycomplianceinitiatives,includingthedevelopmentanddeliveryoftrainingprogramsforZALORAacrosstheregion.
• Managementofexternalcounsel(asrequired)withafocusonobtainingcosteffective,highquality,pragmaticandtimelyadvice,ontimeandwithinbudget.
• Facilitatingeffectivecommunicationandcollaborationbetweengovernmententitiesandtheorganization.

Requirements:

• LLB
• AdmittedtotheMalaysianBar
• 5 to 6yearspostqualifiedexperienceintoptierlawfirm,largemulti-nationalcompanyorboth.
• FluentinwrittenandoralEnglish.
• ProfessionalworkingproficiencyinwrittenandoralBahasaMalaysia.
• Legalexperienceinsomeorallofthefollowingareas:informationtechnology,e-commerce,corporateandfinancelaw,competitionlaw,litigationanddisputeresolution,dataprotection,intellectualproperty,retailorFMCGbusiness,logisticsandcompliance.
• Theabilitytodrillintoandorganizecomplexlegalissues.Inparticular,theabilitytodefineproblems,establishfacts,solveproblems,makerecommendationsanddrawconclusionsinatimelyandaccuratemanner.
• Acriticalthinkeradeptatdrawing-the-dotsinordertoassessthewiderimpactofmattersontheCompany’soperationsandbusinessobjectives.
• Excellentcommunication,influencingandnegotiationskills.
• Outstandinglegaldraftingskillsandattentiontodetail.
• Excellentprioritizationandtimemanagementskills.
