Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Assist in handling litigation matters including civil, commercial, corporate, or general disputes.
  • Prepare and draft court documents such as cause papers, pleadings, affidavits, and submissions.
  • Conduct legal research and case law analysis to support litigation strategy.
  • Assist in preparation for hearings and trials, including bundle of documents and witness statements.
  • Court Appearances
    • Attend case management, hearings, and trials under supervision or independently (based on experience).
    • Liaise with court staff, opposing counsel, and relevant authorities on case matters.
  • Client Communication
    • Attend client meetings with senior lawyers or partners.
    • Communicate with clients on case progress and gather necessary facts or instructions.
    • Prepare status updates and written legal opinions under guidance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.
  • Called to the Malaysian Bar (or relevant jurisdiction) with valid practicing certificate.
  • Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
  • Excellent advocacy, drafting, and research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and work under pressure.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
