Lecturer, Communication (Public Relation)

We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Communication Lecturer specializing in Public Relation to join our esteemed department. As a Communication Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, designing relevant coursework, and guiding students in their pursuit of knowledge and skills in the field of communication, specifically focusing on broadcasting or advertising.

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops in the area of communication, with a specialization in broadcasting or advertising.

Design and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

Provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in broadcasting or advertising, including media production, campaign planning, audience research, and media ethics.

Foster critical thinking and creativity by challenging students to analyze and evaluate various aspects of broadcasting or advertising, such as content creation, audience targeting, and message effectiveness.

Incorporate relevant case studies, real-world examples, and industry insights into teaching materials to provide students with practical knowledge and prepare them for the professional world.

Mentor and advise students on their academic and career goals, providing guidance on internships, networking opportunities, and industry connections.

Keep abreast of the latest developments, trends, and emerging technologies in broadcasting or advertising, and integrate them into the curriculum to enhance students' learning experience.

Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, and other departmental initiatives.

Engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and industry events, to enhance personal expertise and contribute to the advancement of the department.

Requirements:

Posses a PhD or master's degree or higher in Communication, Public Relations or any related field.

Extensive expertise and professional experience in public relation with a strong understanding of industry practices, trends, and emerging technologies.

Demonstrated teaching or training experience in higher education, preferably in the area of communication

Proficiency in instructional methods, including lectures, group discussions, multimedia presentations, and hands-on projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple courses, assignments, and student assessments.

A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and creativity.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and industry professionals.
