Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking a Tax Specialist to lead corporate income tax compliance, provide tax advisory support, and contribute to transfer pricing and related projects. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure adherence to Malaysian tax regulations and drive value through proactive tax planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline and/or a recognized professional qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory.
• Strong technical knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely, accurate, and complete submission of tax returns in compliance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
• Provide tax advisory support to business units on transactions, business initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and tax authorities on tax matters.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Support tax-related projects, and strategic assignments.
• Monitor developments in tax legislation, assess potential business impacts, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Maintain organized records of tax filings and correspondence.
