Job summary

SeaOwl Malaysia seeks a Lead Surveyor (Offshore Rig Inspection) to coordinate and perform inspection activities for offshore rigs within the Maintenance field, ensuring reliability and compliance through structured survey work.

The role requires leading offshore rig inspections, executing surveys per procedures, documenting findings, and reporting results to support maintenance actions and inspection records. Extensive oilfield and jack-up exposure are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of total oilfield experience within the last 15 years.
• At least 7 years in independent third-party rig inspections (Jack-up & Tender Assisted Rig).
• Senior-level offshore maintenance experience (e.g., Chief Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, or Rig Engineer).
• Jack-up rig exposure is mandatory.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Lead Surveyor (Offshore Rig Inspection), you will play a key role in coordinating and carrying out inspection activities for offshore rigs within the Maintenance field. As an Inspector, you will contribute to the reliability and compliance of equipment and structures through structured survey and inspection work.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead and coordinate offshore rig inspection activities.
• Carry out surveys and inspections in line with defined requirements and procedures.
• Identify, document, and report findings during inspection operations.
• Support maintenance-related follow-up actions based on inspection results.
• Contribute to the preparation of inspection records and technical reports.
• Work in coordination with the relevant teams involved in offshore operations and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Minimum 12 years of total oilfield experience within the last 15 years, with at least 7 years specifically dedicated to independent third-party rig inspections (Jack-up & Tender Assisted Rig).
• Must have prior senior-level offshore maintenance experience (such as Chief Mechanic, Maintenance Supervisor, or Rig Engineer), with a mandatory requirement for Jack-up rig exposure.
