Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior technical leader in Penang to drive design, integration, and sustainment of complex test solutions using LabVIEW and NI platforms. You will lead multi-project software development, mentor engineers, and interact directly with customers to shape outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in system development, strong leadership, and expertise across LabVIEW, VeriStand, and PXI/cRIO, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in complex system or application development, system integration, and/or the test and measurements industry.
• Experience serving as a technical lead to release high-quality solutions or products.
• Demonstrated technical leadership in planning, coordinating, specification development, requirements gathering, monitoring, quality assurance, and status reporting of technical deliverables.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to lead the resolution of critical issues and customer escalations through effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Proven ability to use multiple programming languages (LabVIEW, C#, C++, Python) in software design and implementation.
• Familiarity with NI products and platforms such as LabVIEW, TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW RT/FPGA, and PXI/cRIO platforms.
• Customer service-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with customers, engineers, and business partners.
• Availability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify customer needs and provide estimates for integrated system solutions.
• Interact with customers, NI staff, external partners, and external suppliers to support design, implementation, and sustainment of custom test solutions.
• Lead high-level collaborative design efforts for integrated solutions.
• Ensure adherence to development processes and standard methodologies.
• Drive development of reusable software for multiple projects.
• Review work quality and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop efficient technical solutions to project challenges.
• Oversee the technical deliverables for the given project, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Serve as the technical lead in the design of systems, workflows, and architectures leveraging NI tools.
• Guide introduction of new systems and workflows to achieve customer outcomes.
• Provide training, mentoring, and development for new talent in ADAS, VSE, EV Power Conversion, and Electronics.
• Lead customer technical onsite tasks and advance opportunities.
