Job summary

Swisslog in Malaysia is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP/Development Lead to drive the SAP development strategy. You will lead the SAP development team, design ABAP/UI5 solutions, and collaborate with global IT teams.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, roadmap delivery, incident handling, and mentoring developers while delivering scalable, compliant SAP applications and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed studies in (business) informatics or a comparable education.
• Very good knowledge or experience in employee management.
• Experience in IT demand management and project procedures.
• Very good knowledge of agile methodologies (SCRUM).
• Excellent knowledge and at least ten years of experience in SAP software development and database modeling (ABAP, ABAP Objects, CDS, HANA).
• Excellent knowledge in GUI development (SAP GUI, SAP UI5, Web Dynpro ABAP).
• Good knowledge in interface programming (OData, SOAP, ALE, RFC, BAPI).
• Good knowledge in form development (Adobe Interactive Forms, SAP Smart Forms, SAP Script).
• Willingness for continuous education and learning new technologies.

• Cross-module SAP knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead SAP development team professionally and disciplinarily.
• Further development and implementation of the SAP development and SAP technology roadmap.
• Capacity planning for SAP development resources for operations, change requests and projects.
• Responsibility for compliance with SAP development guidelines.
• Main point of contact for all internal questions regarding SAP development.
• Project or Subproject leader in challenging SAP projects.
• Close collaboration with the global IT teams in Augsburg, Budapest and Redditch.
• Evaluation, design, and implementation of complex ABAP development requirements.
• Creating technical concepts, development, and implementation of SAP ABAP, ABAP OO, CDS, HANA, SAP BTP, and SAP FIORI.
• Programming of interfaces (OData, BAPI, RFC, SOAP) also with non-SAP applications.
• Development and extension of forms (SAP Interactive Forms, SAP Smart Forms, SAP Script).
• Development of UI5 and FIORI applications.
• Quality assurance of SAP developments (RICEFW).
• Independent handling of incidents at the SAP application level.
