Job summary

Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Data Scientist to shape secure data pipelines and analytics infrastructure for the nation’s payment ecosystem.

You will productionise statistical and machine learning models for fraud prevention and payment tracing, collaborating with banks, e-wallets, regulators and internal teams to deliver practical ecosystem solutions that scale.

Qualifications

• More than five years of relevant experience in data engineering, data science or both.
• Strong programming capability in Python and SQL, with exposure to C#, VBA.
• Hands-on experience with Hadoop or Spark, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and Kubernetes.
• Applied knowledge of ML, automation and data visualization.
• Excellent communication across business users, banks, regulators and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance data pipelines and infrastructure for analytics.
• Productionise ML and statistical models for fraud detection and tracing.
• Develop and test fraud solutions and microservices.
• Drive analytics and automation across risk, compliance and monitoring.
• Lead technical delivery across concurrent projects.
