Job summary

Grab's GTS Innovation team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is seeking an AI Agent Developer/Engineer to build autonomous systems that perceive environments, reason, and execute multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention. You will focus on LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG to create intelligent agents, and you will report to the Principal Enterprise Architect - Automation and Integration.

This onsite role collaborates with product, business, and program management to ensure reliable delivery

Responsibilities

• Develop Autonomous Agents: design and implement intelligent agents capable of planning, reasoning, and achieving goals independently.
• System Integration: connect AI agents to external APIs, databases, and software tools to perform real-world actions.
• Optimize Performance: fine-tune models, improve prompt engineering, and enhance RAG architectures.
• Evaluation & Testing: build frameworks to evaluate agent performance, reliability, and safety.
• Maintain Guardrails: ensure safe operation and proper oversight in automated workflows.

An AI Agent Developer/Engineer builds autonomous systems that perceive environments, make decisions, use tools, and execute multi-step workflows with minimal human intervention. They specialize in LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG to create intelligent agents that automate complex tasks, such as customer service, data analysis, or software development. You will lead the development of our corporate systems, driving technological advancements and setting the standard for engineering excellence. You will be reporting to Principal Enterprise Architect - Automation and Integration.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
