Job summary

Haskell Malaysia Services Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Lead Engineer – Electrical to oversee the Project Delivery Group, guiding discipline staff on major electrical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering degree required.
• Degree from an accredited curriculum (NCARB or ABET) preferred.
• Minimum 14–16 years' experience within the electrical engineering discipline as well as experience in design-build and/or construction.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one state, with the ability to become registered in all states.
• Manager-level proficiency with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD programs.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and effectively interpret building construction documentation and associated reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

Scope of Position

We are looking for a Lead Engineer – Electrical to administer and manage Project Delivery Group or office discipline staff and design processes within the electrical engineering discipline. This role serves as an Engineer on assigned projects and works closely with the Chief Engineer/Practice Area Leader to develop and implement corporate discipline-related goals and initiatives. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of electrical engineering projects while providing discipline leadership and contributing to the implementation of corporate goals and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of new processes, products, design and construction technologies, methods and trends.

Develop and maintain design standards, technical details, specifications, checklists and production procedures, and review/enforce compliance.

Coordinate electrical engineering work with other disciplines and perform interdisciplinary coordination checks to minimize deficiencies, errors and omissions in drawings and specifications.

Provides technical guidance and strategy assistance in development of design concepts (including proposals) and participates in strategic planning meetings when his expertise is requested.

Manages project staffing assignments for group or office discipline.

Assists in the engagements of and interface with professional consultants and partnering arrangements with consultants, design-build subcontractors and vendors, when required by project team.

Assures adherence to drawing production strategy. Responsible for producing well-organized, finished drawings of good presentation, accuracy, clarity and correctness.

Ability to actively engage multiple project assignments and prioritize competing project demands while assists in developing discipline budgets for projects.

Coordinates with Practice Area Leader to incorporate lessons learned on projects for continuous improvement.

Implements corporate initiatives on streamlining systems and procedures.

Reviews financial performance of EE team on projects in delivery group.

Provide technical assistance during construction for problem solving and review applicable shop drawings and submittal data for compliance with construction documents.

Develops and disseminates discipline information to group discipline, other A/E, construction and support unit staff to broaden their knowledge and understanding of discipline terminology, goals and activities.

Comply with state regulations regarding professional registrations.

Actively participates in professional engineering organizations at local and national levels.

Coordinates with the Practice Area Leader to define career paths for PDG or office staff; assists discipline staff within PDG or office in developing individual goals and approves final goals.

Provides leadership in implementing corporate quality processes and in the design and supervision of electrical engineering design in accordance with corporate goals and standards.

Education/Experience

Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering degree required.
