About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Lead Accountant to join our dynamic team at KAWALAN KESELAMATAN PRESTASI MEWAH SDN. BHD. based in Kuala Lumpur. In this full‑time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial accounting and reporting functions, playing a vital role in driving the financial success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing
  • Prepare, review, and ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, annual and upon request financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g. MFRS, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and guide junior accounts and work in a team.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the team.
Month‑End & Year‑End Closing
  • Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing processes including submission of SST and monthly salaries.
  • Review Management Account thoroughly with attention to detail.
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external Auditors.
  • Monitor Account Receivables and Account Payables matters from time to time.
Tax & Compliance
  • Oversee tax submissions (e.g. corporate tax, SST, CP204, Form E, PCB).
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and liaise with tax agents when needed.
  • To advise the Management on CP204 yearly revision (if any).
Company Secretarial
  • To communicate with Company's Secretary on any issue related to the Company and Directors.
  • Ensure all documents request via email are kept in proper records.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analyst
  • Assist in preparing annual and monthly budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actuals vs. budget and explain variances.
  • Analyse the actual data and explain on comparison years accordingly.
Internal Controls
  • Implement and monitor financial controls and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable financial records.
  • Ensure the filing (hardcopy and softcopy) system is done completely.
System & Process Improvements
  • Support the implementation of accounting systems (e.g. SQL, Excel).
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with SQL's Support Team for any troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and respond to company email related to accounting purposes.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide financial insights to management.
  • Support decision-making with financial data analysis.
What we're looking for
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a related role.
  • Must have prior experience working under a Chartered Accountant or within a professional accounting firm.
  • Proven expertise in managing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficient in the use of financial software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide junior staff.
