Overview

What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.

Production Operation operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Job Summary

The Lead Operator is a senior level position at the facility responsible for the operation of a production line within a production facility. The Lead Operator is responsible for escalating major production issues to production management and resolve general issues independently. This job is responsible the leading and guiding junior employees.

Responsibilities
  • Manages Workflow and production schedules and updates as necessary.
  • Serves as the point of escalation for the designated production line.
  • Audits products for quality control purposes to ensure products are produced as intended.
  • Provides general leadership of the team and allocates resources appropriately.
  • Communicates cross functionally to submit requests for maintenance/materials to ensure that production schedules are adhered to.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience, preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
