Job summary

A leading talent solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a Laboratory Testing professional to commission and maintain testing instruments. The ideal candidate should possess a Certificate or Diploma in Science or related fields and have at least one year of experience in a laboratory setting. Strong attention to detail and familiarity with health and safety standards are essential. This role may involve handling hazardous materials and requires strict adherence to safety guidelines.

Job description

Position: Laboratory Testing

Industry: Oil & Gas

Location: Bangi, Selangor

Scope of Works
  • Commission, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and testing equipment in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, sample analyses, and quality checks to support project and research objectives.
  • Collect, record, and analyze experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all results.
  • Prepare test reports and maintain detailed documentation of laboratory activities and findings.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and standards.
  • Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., HS, mercury) using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.
  • Participate in equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in laboratory operations and data management.
Minimum Requirement(s)
  • Minimum Certificate or Diploma in Science, or Diploma in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in a laboratory or testing environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and HSE compliance standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with laboratory instruments and sample analysis methods is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and good documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
