Job summary

A leading chemical company in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Quality Control Officer to prepare Certificates of Analysis (COA) and manage laboratory records. The ideal candidate has at least an SPM with Science or a diploma in a relevant field, with good teamwork and analytical skills. Candidates should be able to work independently and be free from color blindness. This role ensures compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Minimum – SPM, preferably with Science Subjects/Diploma in relevant field.
• Preferably candidates with 1 year of experience in Quality Control laboratory or chemical testing laboratory.
• Must not be color blind.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) for all product deliveries.
• Update laboratory records, test reports, and data sheets promptly.
• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE.
• Perform analysis and report test results for in-coming and finished goods.

COA Documentation and Compliance

• Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) for all product deliveries based on verified test results.
• Ensure COA data accuracy and compliance with product specifications and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with laboratory personnel to confirm and validate test results prior to COA issuance.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of all issued COAs for traceability and audit purposes.

Documentation and Record Management

• Update laboratory records, test reports, and data sheets promptly and accurately.
• Support ISO 9001 document control requirements for laboratory procedures and quality records.
• Assist during internal and external audits by providing test records and COA documentation when required.

Quality and Safety Compliance

• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area.
• Ensure all testing and documentation activities comply with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Administrative and Support Functions

• Support implementation of laboratory improvement initiatives and 5S activities.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels of laboratory consumables and chemicals.
• Provide general support to laboratory operations as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor or Senior Exec QA/Chemist.

Analysis and Reporting

• To perform analysis and report test result for in-coming, in-process and finished goods according to work Instruction.
• To ensure all sample & analysis information & data are entered into the Lab Analysis Records.

Communications

• Communicate immediately with superior/plant on any quality related matters and issues/abnormality observed during testing.

Job Requirements
