Job summary

A geotechnical services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Laboratory Technician to conduct soil sample testing and ensure quality control. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and be familiar with geotechnical testing procedures. This role includes collaboration with engineers and contributing to the development of new testing methods. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates or minimum 1 year experience in soil investigation.
• Basic understanding in ISO17025 is an advantage.
• Assist with quality control of laboratory testing.

Key Accountabilities /Responsibilities

Perform onshore soil sample testing in accordance with the client’s and standard specifications.

Liaise and coordinate with geotechnical engineer during the laboratory operation to ensure smooth and safe operation.

Assist Senior Lab Tech and Lab Engineer for quality control of soil sampling, laboratory testing operation and as well.

Prepare, compile and record data accurately, such as soil descriptions, field laboratory test data and plot results.

Arranging sample storage, handling and logistics from both vessel and laboratory.

Conduct regular service, in-house calibration, maintenance and inventory updates, as well as utilize PMS documents, which to ensure readiness of good working conditions for laboratory and in-situ testing equipment as well as spare parts.

Assist with the development and implementation of new testing methods, procedures and protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Participate in training and competency programs arranged by laboratory management.
