Role Summary
The Lab Engineer is responsible for both technical and operational aspects of the assigned product test, including test equipment setup, troubleshooting, technical analysis and communication to stakeholders. He/she will work closely with internal teams & counterparts in Switzerland to meet the test goals and department KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Execution of Test Order for product qualification or evaluation including hardware test setup, technical analysis and documentation.
- Lead test lab projects including product development, verification, test method improvement and cost saving activities.
- Troubleshooting of product and test setup while providing technical advice based on in-depth analysis of the observations, findings and root causes.
- Direct support of internal teams including Design/Development Engineers, Product/Project Managers and Quality Team on reported cases.
- Proactively delivering test updates by effective communications to the stakeholders.
- Continuous collaboration and knowledge exchange between Malaysia and Switzerland Test Labs.
- Training and mentoring new employees (not limited to Test Lab personnel) by providing technical guides on products introduction and testing capacity.
- Tracking system health and perform updates whenever necessary.
- Other tasks assigned by the management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with minimum CGPA of 3.20, or
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering with min. 3 years of experiences in semiconductor related industries.
Preferred Qualification
- Knowledge in vacuum technology in semiconductor related industry and applications.
- Intermediate measurement know-how of vacuum properties and physical/surface analysis.
- Experienced in software development (Beckhoff PLC, TwinCAT, LabView) and data analytics (Phyton, Diadem, Matlab) is an added advantage.
- Understanding of problem-solving skills and failure analysis.
- Expert documentation using standard office tools and modern workspace.
- Team player with open communication, global mindset, high willingness to learn and ability to prioritize work.
- Fast learner and high adaptability to demanding environment.
- Proactive and physically fits to perform daily lab activities.
