Job description

Overview

Location: Senai, Johor.

Summary: Under light supervision, a lab assistant will be responsible for updating product registration into LIMS and supporting daily laboratory operations by accurately sorting samples, handling lab equipment, and ensuring proper calibration and maintenance of instruments. This role is essential for maintaining the quality and precision of laboratory tests, ensuring proper handling and storage of retain samples in compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and supporting quality control of testing by ensuring cleanliness of the lab to aseptic conditions for conducting sample testing. Communicate data to Sr. Microbiologist Lab Executive in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation for ingredient, in-process, flushing or finished product, including maintaining and updating the LIMS system.
• Assist Microanalyst in preparation of apparatus, media, reagent and controls to comply with Hershey GLP and ISO17025 standards.
• Assist Micro analyst in daily FG sample sorting, consumable inventories, and proper handling and storage of FG retain samples on a daily basis.
• Assist Micro analyst to maintain housekeeping, GLP and follow safety procedures in the lab.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Food Technology, Chemical-related studies or related field — Fresh graduate or 1-2 years of applicable professional working experience are acceptable.
• SPM/STPM with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment will be considered.
