Job summary

Pantai Hospital Penang is seeking a hospital kitchen steward to wash, sanitize, and maintain cleanliness across kitchen areas and related facilities in Bayan Lepas, Penang. The role includes supporting meal tray preparation, function setup, and timely service while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

The candidate should be willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with prior F&B stewarding or kitchen experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Washing and sanitizing kitchen wares, utensils, and equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen, workstations, and department housekeeping areas (including grease traps, floors, and waste disposal)
• Supporting meal tray line preparation and service
• Assisting with in-house function setup and clearance when required.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor, including prolonged standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks
• Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays
• Prior experience in F&B stewarding, dishwashing, or kitchen/housekeeping operations preferred (hotel, restaurant, or healthcare setting)
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices
• Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashing equipment is an added advantage
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team under time pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Willling to undergo pre-employment medical examination and required vaccinations (e.g. typhoid) as per hospital food handler requirements
