A leading healthcare provider in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a Kitchen Helper to assist with daily kitchen operations, maintain hygiene standards, and support meal preparation and distribution. Ideal candidates will have experience in food service and a strong commitment to cleanliness and food safety regulations.
Assist the Food Service team in supporting all daily kitchen and cafeteria operations under the Dietetic and Food Services Department.
Help the Head Chef and Head of Dietetic and Food Services ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices are followed at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas including preparation rooms, dishwashing areas, chillers, freezers, and waste disposal rooms.
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules according to hospital standards and departmental policies.
Assist in meal preparation, plating, and distribution to wards while ensuring food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Deliver meals to wards or units and collect back used trays, dishes, and cutleries after meal times.
Wash and clean all kitchen utensils, plates, and cutleries to maintain high hygiene standards.
Support the kitchen in basic food preparation such as cutting vegetables, fruits, and meats under the Head Chef’s supervision.
Assist in ordering and receiving raw materials and food ingredients, ensuring all stock is recorded and stored properly.
Keep storage areas neat and maintain par stock levels, updating the Bin Card and reporting low stock items to the Head Chef.
Monitor and record chiller and freezer temperatures daily, and report any breakdowns or abnormalities immediately.
Help in cost control by minimizing food wastage and ensuring efficient use of ingredients.
Support in hospital licensing and certification processes such as HALAL, HACCP, GMP, and MSQH where required.
Perform other assigned duties, participate in quality improvement activities, and maintain professionalism and teamwork in all tasks.
