Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Malaysia is looking for a Key Account Manager to develop and implement strategic account plans aimed at achieving revenue and growth targets. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Key Account Management or Business Development within the food sector, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships. This role includes negotiating contracts and working collaboratively across various teams to ensure client satisfaction.

Job description
Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.

Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their business needs and objectives.

Identify opportunities for up‑selling and cross‑selling products to maximize account value.

Monitor account performance, analyze sales data, and provide regular reports to management.

Coordinate with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations, and customer service) to ensure timely delivery and quality service.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in alignment with company policies and client expectations.

Resolve client issues or escalations promptly to maintain strong relationship and high retention rates.

Track market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to inform strategic decisions.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, or Business Development within the food & beverage (F&B) or FMCG sales growth.
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving sales growth.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, food safety standards, product shelf life, and supply chain flow.
  • Familiar with FSSC, HACCP, GMP, ISO standards, and industry regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, and customer buying behavior in the food sector.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to interpret sales data, forecast, pricing structures and P&L impacts.
  • Experience in preparing proposals, quotations, and business presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional team (production, R&D, QA, logistics, finance).
  • Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Highly self‑motivated, result driven and customer‑focused.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
  • Willing to travel for client meetings, site visit, and market surveys.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
