As a Junior Technical Engineer at Trade Nation, you will play a key role in supporting our technical teams and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. You will assist in troubleshooting issues, providing customer support, and helping to implement technical solutions. Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Provide first-line technical support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware, operating systems, and desktop applications.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for IT-related issues, ensuring timely resolution or escalation where required.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access changes, and asset handover.

Systems, Accounts & Applications

Assist with administration of:

  • Domain names and DNS
  • Email mailboxes
  • Microsoft 365 / Office applications
  • Manage user permissions in line with predefined access policies.

Hardware Maintenance & Provisioning

  • Coordinate acquisition, setup, and maintenance of computers, peripherals, and office IT equipment.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers for repairs or replacements.

Office & Network Support:

  • Provide on-site support for office IT infrastructure, including:
  • Local networks (LAN/Wi-Fi)
  • Printers and shared devices
  • Internet service providers
  • Act as the local technical contact for office connectivity issues.

Website & External Presence

  • Support maintenance of company websites and hosting platforms.
  • Ensure systems supporting the company’s external presence (e.g. website availability, business listings) remain operational and professional.

Security & Connectivity

  • Support day-to-day operation of endpoint security tools and VPN access.
  • Follow centrally defined IT security standards and elevate incidents promptly.

Office Systems & Data

Assist with administration of:

  • Staff attendance and office management platforms
  • Door access and time recording systems
  • CCTV recording systems (operational support only)
  • Support upload, storage, and backup solutions for horse racing data and related video systems, coordinating with external vendors where applicable.
  • Passionate about helping others, with a friendly attitude toward assisting employees in solving their daily IT infrastructure issues.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Problem solving mindset, genuine interest and ability to learn technical concepts and translate them to business solutions for customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSc in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience/commitment to technology
